I remember when I was very young, and Walt himself hosted every Sunday night, his telling us of this new place he was building in Florida. I particularly remember the description and images of the ultra modern techniques and design being used to build the showcase resort of Walt Disney World, The Contemporary.

As a kid, still excited to some degree by toy dumptrucks, I was fascinated to watch as a giant crane lifted a completed room and inserted it into the side of the concrete A-frame that defined the building.

And in addition to that was the Grand Canyon Concourse, through which a real monorail would run!

I dreamed of someday actually seeing this place myself, and maybe even staying there; haven't done that yet, but I have certainly seen it many times now, and on one Saturday in June, I took the elevator to one of the upper floors to get some new pictures.

While at The Magic Kingdom for the Passholder preview of the new Nightastic Events, I took a walk through and then a flight on Dumbo to get a view of the construction progress for the new Fantasy Land expansion project. (Click on photos for larger view.)

I close with the new placement of the tree from Pooh's Playground.

Henceforth, this is where my Disney Photo of the Day will be.
It allows for a larger viewing size than Blogger
and the site doesn't make me as nervous as Facebook.

I was over at Walmart the other day. Hardware section is right across from the toy section. Saw this and it cracked me up!

Barbie has been usurped! Or has Andy's world been invaded?

On Saturday, June 5th, 2010, there was a preview of the new Nightastic fireworks show, and the return of the Main Street Electrical Parade at the Magic Kingdom for Annual Passholders- and anyone else who happened to be there.

I took an easy afternoon around the park while I was waiting for the evening's events, and passed through the Main Street stores to by pass the parade where I spotted these new bobble head figures:

Later, I enjoyed a couple of the dark rides, and as I was coming out of Winnie the Pooh, I spotted a couple of items that I thought were pretty neat!

Videos of the two events are up at my YouTube page: please enjoy!

Had to paint a detail in on a project today, headed for Wal-Mart and got the newly available and heavily advertised product to prevent paint bleed... I think the picture is worth a thousand words.

I will be returning the Frog Tape to Wal-mart tomorrow. I do love their return policy.
