Landmark Mural to disappear in New York City
It's a landmark sight on Manhattan's west Side, but soon it will vanish. It's demise is coming about in a rather unusual way.
The mural is by Knox Martin, who is featured in my book, Pursuring Art in American Woodcarving. I had the great privilege of his personal tutelage in the early 80's.

HIPPO BIRDIE TWO EWE!
Friday, January 26th, 2007 is Lucifers 47th birthday!
Lucifer is a much loved resident of the Homosassa Springs Wildlife State Park and was made an honorary citizen of Flroida many years ago to enable his continued residence at the park featuring only native Florida wildlife. The star of numerous movies and commercials, Lu was most widely known for his leading role on the popular TV show Daktari back in the 60's.
A party was held in his honor this morning at 9:30 a.m.and he was presented with a special birthday cake while visitors, staff and local school children sang “Happy Birthday”. School children enjoyed cupcakes and lemonade.
Lu took it all in stride.

...which tends to happen to those spangled, elegant organizations that have the ill luck to be favored over the Patriots in the postseason.

PATRIOTS MOVE ON!
And once again, the New England Patriots win by 3.
They seem to be fixed on that idea.
Only this time, instead of 3 points, they won by 3 TD's!
All right!

Couple of former Gators on that front line too...
Go Pats!
