THE ETERNAL CITY

Back in 1974, I was on a Med Cruise courtesy of the US Navy, and took a bit of leave while anchored in Naples and took a train up to Rome. While there, I visited the Vatican, and among other things, climbed to the top of St.Peters Basilica. This shot from there is a scan of a 110 slide (1/2 inch) and greatly improved in Corel.

Now while I was thrilled to stand inside the Sistine Chapel, this link will give you a better view than I had at the time- both due to the ability to zoom- and it has been cleaned and restored since I was there!

HOMOSASSA WILD LIFE PARK READY FOR CHRISTMAS

Needed some drive time on my scooter, so headed over the Homosassa Springs State Wildlife Park and buzzed around for a bit.

Spotted this swan up front, back of the main building, near the loading queue for the tram.

Then I scooted down Pepper Creek Trail, where the Christmas decorations are out and more easily photographed in the daytime.

Took the boat back, which is always a relaxing and very pretty ride, though the light makes catching the beauty in a picture very difficult.

The Festival of Lights begins on December 19th! Mark the date! From last years show...

CHASING BUGS?

CHASING BUTTERFLIES

Late Saturday afternoon as I walked across my brightly lit yard to check the roadside mailbox, I was struck with a beautiful scent as I passed a small patch of daisies growing stubbornly among the wilds of my un-mowed section.

As I stopped to look, I saw so much movement among the sunlit blooms that I was again struck.

I returned to my house and got my camera and planned my shoot as I walked back out. I sat on the ground in front of this rather small patch, and it was only when I later edited the video that I saw just how many different butterflies I had had visiting!
