Headed up to Gainesville this morning for a long awaited for appointment with an eye specialist...

On the way, passed by the location where they are putting the next Super Wal*Mart, and they have really started moving dirt now.

Further on up as I entered the more congested roads of Ocala, I spotted this old beauty, but never quite caught up before he turned left.

Arriving early, I stopped at the nearby Burger King and outside they had a bit of locally appropriate adronments...

Had an Angus bacon cheeseburger sans bun...

Inside the clinic, at some point they had the children paint various cieling tiles- this was my favorite. And after over two years of trying to get my vision problem addressed, I was told, by the expert in the field, "Yep, messed up, and can't do a thing for ya!"

Home again, and cooler today, but still so beautiful!

I went back down to the river this morning to give the coach of the Nature Coast Dragon Boat Club a DVD of the video I shot on Monday, not trying to be there for the early launch again, but figuring I would catch him on the return to dock.

While waiting, I took the oppurtunity to grab some more shots of Monkey Island.

Two new videos up from this morning's outing!

Dragon Boat Practice: http://youtu.be/LEX7vY3UW2g

Pelicans on the Water: http://youtu.be/No8kQe9Sdns

REMEMBER! You can click on most images for a full screen view- doesn't work on some... just the way Blogger is. And also I would say right click and open in new tab, so you don't have to keep coming back to the blog itself.

Up earrrrrrrrrly this morning to go shoot the Dragon Boat Practice! Down in the river launching from Old Homosassa, or as residents call it, Homosassa... 22 man boats, they compete all over the place! Just found out about this at the Walmart Grand Opening- they had a booth set up there... here, the coach is giving some final pointers before boarding and heading out for the morning practice. Making the video now...

In the background is Monkey Island.

Before you even know you exist, your parents teach you exactly how to feel...
...about yourself.

Childhood innocence is not lost: it is methodically destroyed.

On Saturday, I was up at Howard's Flea Market in Homosassa Florida.

At the far end of the main aisle- assuming one has entered from State Road 19, the main road that runs most of the length of the Gulf Coast of Florida... At the far end of the main aisle, in one of the small defined scetions set off for an individual stall, one man has instead set up a performance venue.

As I was passing, I recognized a familiar tune and words, and stopped to hear a wonderful rendition of the Temptations classic, My Girl. I parked my ECV and stayed to listen for a while.

That classic was followed with Paul McCartney's Yesterday.

After he finished, I asked if I could do a video. He consented, and asked what he should play. I suggested he do his best song.

Dreams, by John Riley Watkins.

What a sky show last night!

Glanced out the window about 7:45 and grabbed the camera. Looking west...

Woke about 4am, and it was bright out. Shot the moon...

...and then the yard- note the strength of the shadows! Really bright moon!

A bit of rain around 9am, then the sun worked its way out from behind the clouds and for a moment brilliantly lit the yard like fine jewelry.

Okay- this is cool! Was in and out messing with my water supply and noticed this awesome cloud- so took a shot. Then it changed, but was still in the same spot... over the next hour, I shot it several more times until it finally whisped away into nothing...
